Betfury crypto casino, mine dividend tokens with free gambling

Hello everyone,
I have been using the online casino Betfury for a while. It is completely focussed on crypto and you have the possibility to play for free. On youtube and other websites that promote Betfury, you see a lot of people that invest thousands of euro's to farm BFT tokens that reward you with dividends. I decided to not choose that path, but go for the harder one. Every 20 minutes you get 5 free satoshi to play. In this blog I will provide you my strategy to getting quickly at least 10 BFT tokens for that passive income, and more crypto to play so your account grows exponentially.
Ref link: https://betfury.io/?r=60057efc93602368815e7370
Non Ref link: https://betfury.io
So what is my free strategy?
  1. Make sure you have around 30-60 satoshi generated to start this
  2. Go to the inhouse game dice
  3. For the longest playtime (and getting the most BFT tokens) in my experience, put the chance bar to 70% win
  4. Click auto, and ''On Loss'' you want to make sure your bet increases by 100% everytime you lose
  5. Leave ''On Win'' on reset

Interview with magician Jeff McBride

Interview with magician Jeff McBride
WHO IS JEFF MCBRIDE?
Chances are you are reading this article because you already have some interest in magic. So maybe you've already heard of the name Jeff McBride. If you have, you'll already be familiar with his credentials, so you'll be itching to get straight the good stuff and read what he's got to say, because you know it's going to be worth reading.
But if you haven't heard of Jeff McBride before, let me tell you why this interview is a must-read: ● Are you into card magic? Jeff has been doing card magic his whole life, and is one of the very best in the world at card manipulation and sleight of hand. He has also been running his famous Magic & Mystery School for over 30 years. ● Are you into cardistry? Jeff's instructional Art of Card Manipulation videos were some of the foundational materials that shaped fathers of the cardistry movement like Dan and Dave Buck. Card manipulation is his speciality, and if there's anyone that we can learn a thing or two about card handling from, it's him. ● Are you into card collecting? Jeff's entire career has been built with a deck of cards in his hands, and he also collects some playing card memorabilia himself.
So if you are a magic enthusiast in any way, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one of the greatest living card men. We were delighted when Jeff agreed to do this interview with us, and couldn't wait to hear some of his thoughts about various topics relating to his own career with playing cards. We even got opportunity to visit him at his own place, and take some photos of his memorabilia and more, which we have permission to show our readers for the first time! But first let's share some of his credentials, so that we can appreciate what he has to say in the context of his own accomplishments and achievements.

Jeff McBride the Performer
Jeff McBride has had a love for magic that goes back to his childhood in New York's Catskill mountains, where he grew up. As a young boy he stumbled across The Golden Book of Magic in a library, which quickly became his first magic Bible. He performed gigs locally, did street performances, and eventually moved to Las Vegas, where he successfully built a career in magic, and performs his award-winning stage magic and runs a magic school.
His performance style is highly praised for its unique blend of traditional magic with a form of Japanese theater called kabuki. Drawing on an unusual mix of skills that includes martial arts, philosophy, and more, Jeff's stage act combines an unorthodox blend of sleight of hand with masks and mime, to create a unique show like no other. Besides his "home" stage in Las Vegas, he's performed on stages and in theaters around the world, including touring with The Illusionists. A Jeff McBride show never fails to showcase his dynamic, innovative, and creative personality, from someone who has proven himself over time to be a master entertainer, showman, and sleight-of-hand artist.
Jeff McBride's list of awards is too lengthy to cover all of them. But to mention just a few, he's received recognition from exclusive and respected organizations, including "Magician of the Year" by The Magic Castle's The Academy of Magic Arts and "Magician of the Year" by the Society of American Magicians. In 2018 the International F?d?ration Internationale des Societes Magiques (FISM) gave him their "Theory & Philosophy Special Award", in tribute for his lifetime contribution to magic from a viewpoint that is analytical and academic. This illustrious award has previously been given only to Tommy Wonder, Juan Tamariz, Eugene Burger, and Roberto Giobbi. Most recently in January 2020 he was inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame by the Society of American Magicians. He is part of a very small group of living magicians that are part of this exclusive club, which includes David Copperfield and Siegfried and Roy. He's even the holder of three world records - don't worry, we'll be sure to ask him about that in our interview!
And of course he has appeared on television many times, already back in 1995 as part of the "World's Greatest Magic, and more recently on shows like Masters of Illusion, Criss Angel's Mindfreak, and Penn & Teller's Fool Us. But he's not just "another magician", as his selection as a judge for the 2008 reality celebrity-magic show Celebradabra confirms. Already more than ten years ago filmmakers produced a documentary about him, entitled Jeff McBride: A Magickal Life. This has been highly praised by magicians and viewers for how it shows his journey from a boy magician to a headline act in Las Vegas, and also his personal spiritual journey and development from a brash young man into a mature and caring magician who is keen to pass on the art of magic to the next generation. He really is one of the best.
Jeff McBride the Teacher
While the first part of his career was all about performing in his inimitable style, as the years have passed Jeff McBride has more and more mellowed into a highly respected teacher, with a keen interest in sharing his wisdom with others, and helping young magicians develop their skills in magic. Besides many written works, he's produced best-selling and highly influential instructional videos on the art of card manipulation, and on stage magic. His current passion is to serve as a sage that helps other magicians make their dreams as performers come true.
Perhaps his crowning achievement and lasting legacy is the McBride Magic & Mystery School, which he established in 1991. This is a world-renowned training ground for stage magic, and is generally regarded as the very best and most prestigious institution in the world for receiving magic instruction. There's simply no better place for aspiring magicians to go, in order to take seminars, classes, and workshops, to help raise their magic to a higher level, and to learn the true secrets of the craft.
Highly respected magician and lecturer Eugene Burger (pictured below with Jeff McBride) served as Dean of this school until his sad passing in 2017. It was from him that Jeff learned the importance of burning one end of your own candle in order to light someone else's candle. Many leading magicians have served on the faculty or as guest instructors, including big names like Lance Burton, Johnny Thompson, and Max Maven.
Jeff McBride is a wonderful entertainer himself, but his current passion is to be a mentor to others, and he will leave a lasting stamp in the lives of many magicians of the future. But now it's time for us to sit at his feet, and learn a thing or two from his life, and about his experiences with playing cards in particular.

THE INTERVIEW
GENERAL BACKGROUND
For those who don't know anything about you, what can you tell us about yourself and your background?
I started my career with a pack of playing cards. Now I headline Las Vegas shows, and theaters and festivals all over the world. I also run a very successful magic school in Las Vegas, and I teach online.
I am one of the first magic teachers to create a video series, and my breakthrough videos on card manipulation taught the world how to perform flourishes and card manipulation, which happened to grow into a new cardistry movement. I was fortunate enough to train with great old-school masters and I put out The Art of Card Manipulation which caught on in Asia. The material contained within those DVDs - they were VHS videos at that time - did not need words to understand how to perform the magic, so they had international appeal. Many people like An Ha Lim and leading Asian manipulators found these, and my videos were their original training tools.
What would be some of the highlights in your career in magic?
Performing at Radio City Music Hall, the largest theater in the world with no screen support, no image magnification, and performing my card manipulation routine. The only other person that had that experience was Cardini. That was one of the highlights.
And of course, being inducted into the Society of American Magicians Hall of Fame. Also winning the FISM Special Award for Theory and Philosophy was a highlight. That's an award I share with Tommy Wonder, Juan Tamariz, and Eugene Burger.
How would you describe the style of the amazing act that you are known for?
I call it "sorcerer" style, which is very fiery and dynamic. There are many types of card routines, and mine is very explosive and dynamic. In fact during my touring seasons with the hit show The Illusionists, the closing number of the show was my card routine, just before the snow storm sequence. So my card routine can fill a giant theater. At that time of The Illusionists we were working a 7,000 seat theater. So my motto was "pack small, play big."
What were your major influences for this style of performance?
My influences came from many directions. I realized early on that performing standard magic was not a path to success. It was a path to working weddings, bar mitzvahs and birthday parties. In order to break out, I had to become a much more dynamic performer and I added other skillsets I had studied, like classic pantomime theater, which I'd studied at the American Mime Theater. I combined martial arts and my passion for masks and quick change, and dance. And it was this fusion of all of these different theatrical elements that made a huge difference. It was much more than magic, it was a total theatrical experience.
Where can people go to see you perform today?
I teach magic on a platform called MagicFlix. There's performances and tutorials. It's the world's leading streaming platform for magic. So you can immediately see me there. If you want to trial it, all you have to do is go to MagicFlix's website, enter your information, and put in the code MCBRIDE, and you can get 30 days for free. You can see not only myself, but the great masters of magic, and some of the great card magicians in history, as well as learn my card manipulation sequences.
Also if you want to see my live shows, I perform in Las Vegas at Wonderground, which is the longest running independent variety magic show in the history of Las Vegas. It is not attached to a casino, so we can do some pretty wild stuff! That's been running 11 years, and has hosted more variety entertainers on its stage than any other stage in Las Vegas.
What should we know about the McBride Magic & Mystery School, which has now been running for around 30 years?
It's now over 30 years. The McBride Magic and Mystery School came out of a great desire to study with masters. The challenge I see these days is that most people are learning magic from their peers, from people in their own age group. And not necessarily looking up the ladder at masters that have achieved great amounts of success.
So what I did 30 years ago, is I decided to host a retreat for masters to come and teach hungry students, mostly professionals, that were willing to empty their cup and fill up on wisdom and on the experience of great masters. And over the years we've had Eugene Burger, Johnny Thompson, Max Maven and many, many other masters come to the school to help our students understand the path to mastery. So not just learning from your pals online or at magic class, but really top-down training from experts in the field.
What are some of your interests outside of magic?
I spend a lot of time going to other conferences learning more skills on how to facilitate life-transforming experiences. So I spend a lot of time still studying how to teach more effectively, both in person and online.

MAGIC
What quality in magic makes it so enjoyable for people to watch?
I think there is not one thing. People like engineers have a really different relationship with magic; if you watch them squint their eyes and wrinkle their forehead while they watch magic, they're only interested in the puzzle aspect. Other people are interested more in the mystery aspect. So there's different types of audiences. There's the audiences that like to sit there and try to figure the tricks out. And then there's the audiences that like to sit back and enjoy the mystery.
I was having this conversation with Judge Gary Brown, who's a wonderful magician, creator, inventor, and writer. He sent me a quote from Dariel Fitzkee, which talks about "Is magic more than fooling?" Fitzkee says - and this is written up in The Fitzkee Trilogy - "Don't put too much stress on the trick itself as a mystery. Your audiences might suddenly think of television, which is much more miraculous. Stress it in terms of human interests, of human relationships, of character response, of human situations. If the mystery were important, the much greater miracles of our everyday world would far outshadow it. Method is important only as a means of accomplishing a desired end, like the grindstone which sharpens the headman's ax. The ultimate objective is something entirely different."
Our Dean of the Mystery School, Larry Hass, entered this conversation and read it like this: "It isn't not knowing or fooling that is important, and it isn't even encountering mystery. It is what a human artist expresses about humanity and life itself that is the real core of the experience of magic." Penn and Teller do both: making it hard with the fooling method, but their show and their stories are also about issues in politics, in relationships, in critical thinking, in skepticism. They have many, many presentational frames that are about more than just mystery or fooling.
That's what I saw in Eugene Burger so many years ago. His magic was coming from a deep, philosophical perspective and experience that gave it a richer meaning than just Instagram magic and flashy, "How does he do that?" sort of stuff that is so pervasive on YouTube and social media. Perhaps performers will soon be able to give more depth to their magic instead of just what I call eye-candy. My goal is to transform eye-candy into soul food.
What first sparked your interest in magic?
I talk about it at the end of my show each and every day. My life was changed forever when a magician said, "Pick a card." And this magician was actually a young girl named Linda Van Etten who had a twin sister named Susan, and they knew card tricks. And they showed me a card trick, and from that moment on I knew what I wanted to do. It was a card reversal in a deck with a card turned face up in the deck. I was six years old at the time. And by seven years old I was deep into magic.
I think sometimes we forget - because magic and cards are so familiar to us - that the simple task of having somebody pick a card can change their lives. That's an important thing to remember.
What is the key to your longevity in the magic industry over several decades, and what keeps you going as a performer and teacher?
I think my longevity is due to being able to adapt and recreate myself to make my magic relevant at the different stages of a magician's life. At the Mystery School there's kind of a typology that we use: "The trickster, the sorcerer, the oracle, and the sage." Those are the four stages of the magician's life. From learning simple tricks, to being able to perform, to learning all of the meaning and interior worlds of magic, and then being able to pass that knowledge onto the magicians of the future.
I've worn the mask of the trickster in my younger days, and in mid-life, the sorcerer, burning up stages all over the world. And then taking time out to reflect and look inside for meaning and taking time for introspection. I'm now at the stage of my life of being able to pass on a lifetime of wisdom and experience to future students. So I think it's a process of reinvention that has helped me endure and keep my passion for magic.
I try to read as much as I can. I try to watch as much as I can. I try to get together live with magicians as much as I can. And teach and go study as much as I can. Zero TV. I have not had a working TV in my home since 1979. Most people spend way too much time on the internet and television, and way too much time on Facebook and social media.
What's the path to mastery: Facebook and social media? Or reading and practicing and videoing and refining your show? That's not for everyone, because that's not everyone's goal. Some people are very content to sit on magic forums and ask "What's the best trick? What's the best three tricks for close up?". That's okay, but that's not getting real world experience and going out and doing it.

https://preview.redd.it/3zu0ywjen8751.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78e3879e824167616655be78695bee05fa5ba483
How important is one's own personality in performing magic, and how did this play a role in your own career?
I think that magicians discover their personality through performance. I know that I have become many different versions of Jeff McBride over the years. Because when we're young, magic is just about learning the trick, and doing it and getting the `wow'. Then as we get older, magic gets to be a way of interacting and getting a social edge, and being able to be seen and stand out from the crowd. And if people pursue it more, they develop a personality and a connection to performing magic that might take them around the world. Or just to make them the hit at the family reunion, so that people can have a peaceful time at the Thanksgiving table!
People have different reasons for performing magic at different times in their lives. Some people use it to compete. Other people use it to teach and instruct. Other people use it to wind down after a hard day's work. But I think magic is a way to develop aspects of your personality. And I think that is a very powerful role that magic plays in our lives.
Are there differences in how an amateur and a professional approach magic?
Absolutely. I started reading a blog and books on a website called The Jerx, which is a very opinionated, very humorously yet potently written blog about magic from an amateur's point of view. Different rules apply if you want to be a professional: there's costuming, there's lighting, there's sound, there is scripting, and all of these other theatrical components that are essential in creating a theatrical magical experience, if that is your goal.
However the writer at The Jerx - and I really am entertained and often enlightened by his writing - has a completely contrary view to this. Instead of me trying to rehash his personal experience writing and philosophy, if you are an amateur magician and want to read about other people's opinion on amateur magic and non-professional magic, just take a visit to The Jerx - you'll find some very interesting information there.
It was a wake up call to me, because not everybody that performs magic wants to be professional. Some people just want to do it for their friends and have fun, and that's a perfectly satisfying lifestyle of magic. And they don't need scripting and they don't need all of the other requirements of the theater, because they're not working in theater; they're just doing it for their friends at the office. And that's perfectly fine.
However, the rules do change when you get up onstage in front of 5,000-6,000 people in a theater! Then you need to consider some of those elements.
But as Eugene Burger reminds us, "There are many rooms in the house of magic." There are many rooms for all of us, including rooms for the people that are passionate amateurs, whom I call "enthusiasts". I don't like the word "amateur" myself, so I use the word "enthusiast", because there are many great magic enthusiasts that have never been full time and professional magicians. And that's perfectly valid. Magic is not about tricks, and magic is not gauged on the box office success. Magic is really a way to enhance the quality of your life, and there's many ways to do that. If a person is collecting cards, they don't have to collect every deck to feel complete, they can collect the ones they like, and that's fine, right? Everybody has their own path to walk.
How has the magic industry changed since you first became involved in it, and how has technology impacted it?
It's a double-edged sword. We talk about YouTube and Instagram and all these different ways that people consume magic, but most of this magic is eye-candy and very shallow. There are archives of great performers on YouTube, but it's still mediated and it's not the same as being there.
It makes me sad when I see a clip of Fred Kaps on YouTube and then some bozo going, "Fake, fake, fake, he has a thing in his hand, it's frame 725!" My response would be: "You're critiquing Fred Kaps? Go practice. Don't be giving critiques to Fred Kaps, who won FISM like three times, hello? And you're 14, and you've stopped a frame because you've watched it 15 times, and you're so clever, really?" That's what hurts magic, I think.
What also hurts is when you look up a great performer, say Cardini, and right next to it there are sixteen YouTube clips of 12 year old kids in their pajamas teaching a bad back palm, just because they want clicks and hits on their YouTube site. It's disgraceful. So that's what hurts magic.
However technology has also made possible sites like MagicFlix, which have a bit of a firewall to them, so that people have to be invited to it to get there. Those people that have serious passion can now study with all of the great masters. They can study with Karrell Fox, Jay Marshall, Tom Mullica, Johnny Thompson, Daryl, and so many others. And it's very convenient for learning. So that's the good side of it.
When people get interested in magic on the internet, hopefully they'll find a teacher. But what mostly happens today is they just stay online. That's not really learning magic, that's collecting secrets. That's collecting postage stamps. That's not transforming these into meaningful, magical experiences.
What we do at Mystery School is create a learning environment that's a safe place for people to come to, in order to really study the secrets of magic. Everyone here signs a secrecy agreement, so that the things that we teach won't be bastardized by exposure on the internet. We feel that Mystery School is one of the last great holdouts of secret information. When all of the secrets are just out there, there is no magic. There has to be secrecy, in order to create very effective magic.
And we keep working and innovating, and looking through the old books and digging out the gems, polishing them up, and fusing them with new materials and new technology to create hybrid magic effects that have never been seen before. That's a passion of ours: resurrecting some of these old magic gems and bringing them to new audiences.
So there's a struggle, these days with exposure. But the good news is that it's just too much for any one person to observe. A lot of the real secrets of magic are in the books. The internet is just a little tiny tip of the huge iceberg of magical literature that is hidden away. Many people call themselves, as Scott Alexander puts it, "visual learners." That means they don't read books. That means they won't ever have the depth of knowledge of someone that can learn visually and can read books. They cut off more than half of the resources that exist for them, and that's a shame.

https://preview.redd.it/9f7q7l1gn8751.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18fde38f8e0cbc4a5c99d6becfeb8803109e54be
What is the most difficult trick you ever performed, and what made it so hard?
Double One-Handed Waterfall. I used to have showdowns with Ricky Jay on the streets of Madrid, Spain. Ricky and I would basically do cowboy showdowns, gun-slinging with cards, late at night. We were attending the FISM convention in Madrid, and we'd have challenges back and forth with card spinning. He definitely could throw much further, but I definitely could do a One-Handed Waterfall in each hand. That's probably the most difficult feat. I actually performed it, I believe, on The Art of Card Manipulation, in one of the little quick cuts.
Do have any good stories you can share about a magician "fail" that you experienced?
There's an old formula that says, "Tragedy plus time equals comedy." All magicians have challenges and barriers on stage, and so have I. In the moment, they're never fun, but you can retell these stories to friends. Everybody has war stories! Let's see if I have one that stands out...
I remember being on stage, and I had to pull some paper ribbons out of my mouth, and then I produced a dove from the paper ribbons. Then I would secretly switch out that bird for a rubber bird, and put it in a paper bag. I would blow up the paper bag, then pop the paper bag, and little feathers would drop out. However, on this day I was pulling the paper ribbons out, and I decided to use scissors to cut the paper ribbons, and I cut a hole inside my lip! I quickly shut my mouth, and my mouth filled with blood. This was my grand finale - I'm thinking "Oh, this is very bad," but the audience can't see anything yet.
So I get to the part where I produce the live dove, and I switch it for the rubber dove, and put it in the bag. But now I have to blow up the bag - I didn't see that coming! And I figure this is a really good time to get all that blood out of my mouth. So I blow up the bag, and it's filling with blood. And when I pop the bag, there's nothing but blood and feathers everywhere, and people screaming! Some teenagers thought it was just so rock and roll, and other mothers and children thought it was so horrible. It was this mixture of some people going out of their mind applauding, and other people going out of their mind screaming. So we never know - even when the worst can go wrong, people will still love it!
How would you like to be remembered in the magic community, and what accomplishments would you still like to make?
I feel like I already am remembered in the magic community. I've accomplished more than all my childhood dreams: headlining Vegas, Magic Castle Magician of the Year, Hall of Fame, FISM Award winner, Guinness World Records - I've done a lot.
Now my goal is to help other people's dreams. So when I see a student of mine like Mat Franco win America's Got Talent and get his own show in Vegas, and my student Aaron Crow win on Britain's Got Talent and come on America's Got Talent with a magic routine that I'd helped him design - that's what I want to be remembered for. When I have students getting their own shows and winning awards. I'm a magic teacher, and I love to give. That's what I love to do now. I still tour and perform internationally all the time, but my passion right now is teaching and helping other people achieve their dreams.
What is one piece of work you have released that you'd like to be remembered by, or which might be of interest to the playing card enthusiast?
Anybody that watches Jeff McBride The Art of Card Manipulation will see how I researched all of the old school material and the stuff that I'd learned in my generation, and put it all together in one place. Those are the videos that the Buck twins - Dave and Dan - saw. Many of the people that first started card manipulation and cardistry saw me on those World's Greatest Magic specials back in the '90s that were filmed at Caesar's Palace. This was one of the first modern versions of card manipulation on TV.
So I think my series on The Art of Card Manipulation imprinted a lot of young magicians, young card handlers, and then the cardistry movement. I was not singularly responsible for that, but The Art of Card Manipulation was definitely essential fuel for it, because it was the most comprehensive card manipulation series ever put out.
What advice would you give to a young person just starting to learn card magic or card manipulation?
Learn from your pals, but study in person with a great master. It will shave years off your learning curve.

CONCLUSION
It takes a lot for the Society of American Magicians to vote you into their Hall of Fame, especially when you're still active performing and teaching. Jeff McBride is one of the few in the world who can lay claim to being part of that select group.
Jeff is first and foremost a performer with a love for entertaining people, and the unique combination of elements that helps make his stage act stand out from other performers will always be a memorable trademark style that people associate with his name. But perhaps his lasting legacy will be the new role he has taken on as a sage and mentor to others. His Magic & Mystery School has been instrumental in producing new magicians who will continue to entertain us in years to come.
With this interview we've had a wonderful opportunity to have a glimpse of his thinking and learn about some of his experiences. Thank you Mr McBride for all that you've given to magic! May this inspire all of us to turn that pack of playing cards in our hands as a tool to develop our own skills, and to share our love for the arts with those around us!

For this edition we are returning to categories. The items under each category are in ranked order, though the categories themselves are in an arbitrary order.
Full disclosure, I had decided to end the TO DO list for various reasons. Then there was a post about devs liking the cut of our jib, and I felt compelled to do my part to push for even more game improvements.
Speaking of game improvements, the devs have been doing a wonderful job in the last six months with game fixes/improvements as has been noted in previous versions of the TO DO list [no link here, because there have been over a gazillion of them- just use search or click my profile you weird stalker]. Basically all of the changes, with the notable exception of the auto-populating fusions (great idea!), appeared in previous TO DO lists, so here's hoping the following items get some attention too!

Back to the Drawing Board

  1. Guild War. The interface update was a solid step in the right direction! Now let's talk abou GW prelims themselves- they aren't idle, fun, fair, or enjoyable (yes, fun and enjoyable are different things). To break that down- attacking 40 times isn't idle, endlessly spinning to get guilds you can 1920 isn't fun, guild can easily trade wins which is not fair, and the entire grind of beating up weak guilds is not enjoyable. Numerous suggestions have been make on how to fix GW and here are some of my favorites: reduce the number of attacks- 25 is enough (more idle); only count the top 39 (max-1) scores so guilds can be free to experiment or make mistakes (more fun); defensive battles should have a score to make trading wins foolish (more fair); scoring should be revised with more tight scoring brackets at the top (top 5, top 10, top 25) instead of any top 50 win being the same (more enjoyable).
  2. Quests. The rewards are scaled to the 9* game and daily activities do not include several of the newer game modes like Seal Land and Celestial Island. Please update dailies to include new game modes and offer rewards suitable for E3 resource requirements (hero shards, an orb or two, more gems, etc...).
  3. Skins. There are a few problems with skins. Suppose right now you decided that you need Ormus, Skerei, and Michelle on your team, but had skins for none of them. Getting the ormus skin is going to be a nightmare because universal skins shards are rare and rewards are random- you could literally go years without getting the skin! Yellow skins should be purchasable directly with shards instead of random. Next up is Michelle- get 30 feathers and you have the skin makes sense and is good. Finally there is Skerei who you can buy for 30 feathers if you want the Jurassic skin, but if you want the Dragon then what? It appears you are out of luck because some purple skins are truly limited while others are not. This indicates to me that there should be a 3rd type of skin border that differentiates between skins that will be in the store and genuinely limited skins.
  4. Seal Land Balance. A quick search of this reddit will show that it is comparatively VERY easy to get far with an Abyss team. Forest is also manageable. Fortress has so much CC you are doomed. Shadow is... well few people go shadow so who knows? The bosses/teams need to be balanced and top heroes (/wave KB) taken into consideration so there is some semblance of balance instead of Abyss dominating in yet another game mode.
  5. Skerei Tier PVE Damage. So this is not strictly within the purview of the list, but it needs to be said. Look, it is great that Skerei stacking can do 4B damage. People committed to a thing and made it happen and that is fine. The problem is that if we were making an honest Boss PVE tier list, there would be like 2 empty tiers between Skerei Stacking/HW and the rest. Heroes that have fallen off the PVP tier lists (Sig, DM, Walter, etc...) should get some boosts in the stacking damage department to make not having a Skerei team semi-competitive. Skerei stacking can still be on top, but how about filling in those other tiers?
  6. [added] PFF. For the life of me I cannot recall why PFF was removed from the TO DO list. Several people have commented, PM, sky written at me that this game mode needs to be fixed because it does! The number of ways to improve PFF are numerous, but I will suggest three specific ideas: increase the amount of praying that players can do daily to four with 0, 20, 40, and 80 gem costs; u/DarkPresent suggests that PFF bosses have infinite HP with a set duration of 48 hours so everyone can hit them twice- to me this is a just about ideal way to keep PFF interesting (everyone gets two hits) for megaladon guilds and less powerful guilds; more variety of PFF bosses- don't be afraid to dip into 1, 2, and 3 star heroes to mix it up.Several people have asked for a list of how many prayers/gems everyone is spending similar to the mill gold list. As a guild leader I wholeheartedly endorse this idea and will probably move it to the top of the list for the next TO DO.
  7. [added] Aspen Store. The "deals" in Aspen store look a lot worse after the regular marketplace redesign last year. Costs in the aspen "store" need to be re-evaluated. Also, gold for casino (I will call it a wishing fountain when it looks like one) chips has virtually disappeared. This is a terrible, terrible change because Casino event was the one thing that f2p and dolphins could actually go deep on. Bring back the gold of chips deals en masse since this is a not an event that remotely threatens Whales but is fun for everyone!

Quality of Life Improvements

  1. Equipment Loadouts. u/Level3_Melynx already did a beautiful mock up of this idea: https://www.reddit.com/IdleHeroes/comments/9ym35q/qol_suggestion_team_loadouts/
  2. Hire Better Translators. Much of the language in game is awkward or down right misleading. There is great inconsistency in how similar abilities are phrased, there are words that have no obvious meaning ("respective enemies"?), and some very mangled language. I know a few polyglots who would work for gems.
  3. Re-evaluate Timers. Players are constantly falling behind timers. This makes it hard to schedule our addiction hobby. Slightly reducing all of the timers by 15 minutes would help make sure we can stay on a schedule without having much of an overall impact. NICKisICE suggests the alternative of having more timers reset on a schedule (similar to how Marketplace works now) which is probably a better idea and more in line with what the devs have been doing recently. GO TEAM!
  4. Free Team-Up Team Sorting. 2profound scores the first addition to the list of 2019 by pointing out that in Free Team-Up you have to back out of the attack screen, change your lineup, then go back to the attack screen and find the team you want to attack if you want to change your lineup. Why it doesn't work the same way that TotC works is beyond them, it's beyond me, and beyond annoying.
  5. Remove Pointless Clicking ricazzam reminds us that there is still a lot of pointless clicking in the game. Much of this has been removed (wave at Aspen everyone then go thank the first TO DO list), but some still exists in Tavern (ok. ok? why have the popup unless it is 6/7 or you are spending gems to finish early?) and elsewhere. Superfluous clicks/taps serve no purpose and would not be missed!
  6. Faction Sorting in TotC. And anywhere else it doesn't already exist.
  7. Shard Sorting. Shards are a mess! Sorting exists for artifacts and that is on the same window/box.
  8. Red Dots. The inconsistency of the red notification has improved significantly, but there are still some that do not function quite as well as one would expect. BT dot stays up after you are defeated, Aspen does not even when your whole team is still alive, etc...
  9. Better UI Consistency. A few redditors and guildmates have pointed out that some windows have an X, some an ->, and some you just click empty space and hope they close. This lack of consistency is not becoming of a multi-million dollar game.
  10. Fusion Shard Checking. Several people have suggested ways to improve Fusion. I think u/RuinedEye has the best suggestion for putting green (or any color besides red) dots on the fusion screen if you have the necessary shards. Maybe a direct link to the shards window from the Fusion screen too, since you go back and forth between the two very often when doing fusions.
  11. [added] Hero Leveling. I can't recall if this was on a previous list or just something I talked to the people on the bus at, so u/remington9 gets credit for the idea of adding an "all" type button to hero leveling. It could be exactly where the "tier up" button pops up with the two alternating depending on if the hero is max level or not. That would reduce leveling from over 300 clicks to something like 17 clicks (not counting going to the other screen to sac heroes). What an improvement!

Please Sir, I Want Some More

  1. Celestial Island. There are spots for more islands and everyone who has been playing since CI was released is well past the max so please add more tower levels and island.
  2. Event Raid. There should be at least 3 more tiers of challenges based on the level of top players and how far the rewards have fallen behind in the Enabling era fodder needs. Hand of Midas, Wishing Casino, and possible other stuff have a similar scaling issues.
  3. Challenges. They have been trickling in. Keep that going! I think a new challenge every weekwould be a reasonable goal and keep things lively. Here's a freebie- get rewards for the number of skins you have unlocked! This would be a fun little collectors distraction and make Universal Skin Shards less useless. Here's another thirty- just add more levels to existing challenges. There, you're covered past anniversary. You're welcome!
  4. [added] 2 Star Heroes. Should give some altar coins when you sacrifice them. Functionally they are identical to 1 Star heroes, and this would give them a little something to differentiate the two.
  5. [added] Marauders. Constantly hitting Sig is boring. Please add more tiers of Marauders. Additionally, the spawn rates should be much higher. Empty marauder lists was a problem in the past that was fixed once, but E3 has made it a problem again. If the rate was twice as high the world would be a better place.
  6. [added] Tower of Oblivion. Numerous people have suggested numerous things to make Tower more interesting. Nothing has really stood out to me or garnered huge support in the comment section. I brainstormed for a solid 42 seconds and came up with an idea, but it is pretty far out there so I am making a seperate thread that you can read by clicking this blue text- that is hyperlinks work.

A Thing That Annoyed Me While Making This Post

  1. Hero List. When you click from the 'helmet' to the 'book' the list goes back to Shadow. This isn't a huge deal, but it is annoying when you are looking at your Light heroes and want to check a different one, for example. It is extra clicks! I am also fairly certain it did not always function this way.

So there you have it. That is a list of items that could keep players happy for months if devs just did one a week. Really happy if the unofficial official TO DO list (Starlight/Baade redesign, Fire Monster, Guild Tech, Healer Updated- Vesa?, etc...) gets done. I did not include items that have officially been commented on, even though some of them I am literally shaking with anticipation to see happen. Do you know how hard it is to type while shaking uncontrollably 24/7?

FAQ

Why is this called the Winter Edition when it is Spring?
Until the Vernal Equinox on March 20th it is Winter. That is how seasons work.
Well it is Summer in the Southern Hemisphere!
Not a question, though you are correct. I deeply apologize to anyone in the Southern Hemisphere. This problem haunts me so much I had to go read (skimmed) up on seasons. I learned a lot, but not a hemisphere neutral name for the seasons. If you know of any or want to make some up please share in the comment section.
u/metallifta you mean like Q1?
When in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes, I all alone beweep my outcast state, And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries, And look upon myself and curse my fate.
Also, didn't you already release a TODO list or 7 this Winter?
This is a new format! I will update the TO DO list seasonally. In the interim, if someone wants to do a really lazy job of plagiarizing being inspired by my post then have it posted on a $20,000 website, well, it wouldn't be the first time. Now, do you have any real questions relevant to the TO DO list?
I think your Guild War suggestions are stupid and I've already downvoted this post and every comment you made in the past year and am getting ready to dox you to the Taliban!
That is a very measured response for reddit. I appreciate your restraint. Here's the thing- Guild War is bad. Really bad. Pretty much any change that makes it less of a boring grind is going to be an improvement. Some suggestions work well together, some do not. The community has offered dozens of ideas to make it better so pick and choose something, anything to improve prelims.
Hey, aren't some of the ideas on this from users who name no longer appears on the TO DO list?
That is correct. Previously, I kept user names around for one iteration of the TO DO list then removed them to keep things clean. That is no longer my policy. User suggestions will carry the username until they get fixed in game or someone comes up with a better idea or people complain loudly. If someone wants to go read all the old TO DO lists to pull the user names they are better people than me, and welcome to do so.
So what's next for you?
Like everyone else I am waiting for Aida to hit the feather store. Six Aida teams here we come! But this post isn't about hero balance so I'll be quiet now.

Termination of Transmission

Feedback and other ideas are appreciated! As always: be smart, be nice, be funny. Pick AT LEAST two.

Conjecture Lecture: Or I suck at future predictions of the show

tldr: If participating in this subreddit has taught me anything is that I royally suck at predicting what will happen in Mr. Robot. What I do moderately well is look for patterns and recall history. I also have an insatiable need to understand another person’s creative process, since I am not one of those creative genius types. This is my attempt to highlight some of the RL historical events and people to the Mr. Robot universe and what I perceive where u/SamEsmail received his inspiration for Mr. Robot. It has also taught me that I like bullet points.
First a mini-timeline. While I am sure there are a ton more dates and events, these are the ones that have come up pretty frequently in the show.
1991 – The World Wide Web was launched at CERN; Linux was also introduced
1995 – Various browsers introduced, Windows 95 released, personal computer sales explode
2003 – 4chan launched
2004 – Thefacebook (later Facebook) was launched, Anonymous was established on 4chan
2006 - Wikileaks launched from servers in Iceland by Australian hacker, Julian Assange
2007 - Collateral Murder video and associated documents were published on Wikileaks; ChanOps started (?)
2008 – Tom Cruise’s weird propaganda video for Scientology is leaked, Anonymous launches Project Chanology against Scientology
2009 - Manning states that she started working with Wikileaks on Thanksgiving 2009 in a chat with Adrian Lamo
2010 – Anonymous launches Operation Payback in retaliation against industry attempts to stop Piratebay and WikiLeaks; Chelsea (then Bradley) Manning leaked information to Wikileaks (crucially the Collateral Murder footage and documents); Manning confides in informant, Adrian Lamo; Manning is arrested and imprisoned much of it under the Prevention of Injury status.
2011 – Arab Spring, Occupy Wallstreet, Gawker hack, emergence of LulzSec from the anon group Internet Feds, BART hack, Sony hack, Fox Network hack, UK banks hack, PBS hack, Operation AntiSec, way too many others to list; several LulzSec members arrested
2012 – This is the year that Esmail said his idea for Mr. Robot was ‘born’. More members of LulzSec arrested, NSA statement on Anonymous and power grid threats
2013 – Criminal cases finalized against several LulzSec members
2014 - Manning is provided with hormones to facilitate her gender reassignment
2015 – Mr. Robot universe; Manning is provided all necessary items to address her gender dysphoria
I speculate that Esmail was intrigued by world events that led up the arrest and conviction of LulzSec members. Perhaps he read Olson’s 2012 book, “We Are Anonymous: Inside the Hacker World of LulzSec, Anonymous, and the Global Cyber Insurgency” (Olson, Parmy). Perhaps he just kept abreast of the news. It certainly was all over the web in articles and blog posts such as:
Not to mention Twitter with the associated hashtags. Even a ‘diary’ posted on isc.sans.edu (there are a number of documents cited in this link that are fascinating reading, although you may have to hunt down cached versions since the links are dead).
Okay, so where was I going with this? Oh yes, there are so many similarities to the entire history of LulzSec and the Mr. Robot Universe. For example:
Some of the people involved in LulzSec and/or satellite players seem to be inspirations for Elliot, Darlene, Angela, Kayla, Romero, Gideon, and Trenton.
Some of the iconography with LulzSec and (some) seen prominently in Mr. Robot
Early Hacker Groups and Events
Hackers on Planet Earth Convention

The Next HOPE Convention of 2010 (Well worth a look at the documentation and lineup all of the HOPE conventions.)

Hotel Pennsylvania, Manhattan, NY
I think one of the most important inspirational pieces for Esmail may have been the following essay written by Jake Davis in February 2012:
Hello, friend, and welcome to the Internet, the guiding light and deadly laser in our hectic, modern world. The internet horde has been watching you closely for some time now. It has seen you flock to your Facebook and your Twitter of the years, and it has seen you enter its home turf and attempt to overrun it with your scandals and “real world” gossip. You need to know that the ownership of cyberspace will always remain with the hivemind. The Internet does not belong to your beloved authorities, militaries, or multi-millionaire company owners. The Internet belongs to the trolls and the hackers, the enthusiasts and the extremists; it will never cease to be this way.
You see, the Internet has long since lost its place in time and its shady collective continues to shunt he fact that it lives in a specific year like 2012, where it has to abide by 2012’s morals and 2012’s society, with its rules and it punishments. The Internet smirks at scenes of mass rape and horrific slaughtering followed by a touch of cannibalism, all to the sound of catchy Japanese music. It simply doesn’t give a tuppence about getting a “job”, getting a car, getting a house, raising a family, and teaching them to continue the loop while the human race organizes its own death. Custom-plated coffins and retirement plans made of paperwork…the Internet asks why?
You cannot make the Internet feel bad, you cannot make the Internet feel regret or guilt or sympathy, you can only make the Internet feel the need to have more lulz at your expense. The lulz flow through all in the faceless army as they see the twin towers falling with a dancing Hitler on loop in the bottom-left corner of their screens. The lulz strike when they open a newspaper and care nothing for any of the world’s alleged problems. They laugh at downward red arrows as banks and businesses tumble, and they laugh at our glorious government overlords trying to fix a situation by throwing more currency at it. They laugh when you try to make them feel the need to “make something of life,” and they laugh harder when you call them vile trolls and heartless web terrorists. They laugh at you because you’re not capable of laughing at yourselves and all of the pointless fodder they believe you surround yourselves in. But most of all they laugh because they can.
This is not to say that the Internet is your enemy. It is your greatest ally and closest friend; its shops mean you don’t have to set foot outside your home, and its casinos allow you to lose your money at any hour of the day. Its many chat rooms ensure you no longer need to interact with any other members of your species directly, and detailed social networking conveniently maps your every move and thought. Your intimate relationships and darkest secrets belong to the horde, and they will never be forgotten. Your existence will forever be encoded into the infinite repertoire of beautiful, byte-sized sequences, safely housed in the cyber cloud for all to observe.
And how has the Internet changed the lives of its most hardened addicts? They simply don’t care enough to tell you. So welcome to the underbelly of society, the anarchistic stream-of-thought nebular that seeps it way into the mainstream word – your world – more and more every day. You cannot escape it and you cannot anticipate it. It is the nightmare on the edge of your dreams and the ominous thought that it claws its way through your online life like a blinding virtual force, disregarding your philosophies and feasting on your emotions.
Prepare to end to the hivemind, motherfuck.
Gosh, I can just hear Elliot saying something like this, can’t you?

Total noob in search for guidance!!!

hello, my name is Vlad and first and foremost, I want to apologize if and when I'll ask some stupid and obvious questions here. Recently, I have been hired to write copy for a business that runs online casinos. You know, things like e-mail, articles, blog entries and affiliate marketing content. Things is, I observed that our primary focus is on affiliate marketing, where the company has hundreds of affiliates making them tens of thousands each and every single day.
That's when I decided to start my own couple of affiliate marketing websites, but for sports gambling, not a casino. Being a former professional athlete ( handball) and gambler all my life I figured I pretty much know how to write articles, previews and give predictions on sporting events. Now here's the catch; i pretty much figured that promoting gambling offers with Fb and Youtube ads is not going to work, or at least not in a regular way ( except cloaking, which I don't know how to do), so here are my questions:
  1. In your experience, would paying several Youtubers to advertise on their videos these types of offers ( gambling, casino) work?
  2. I know what cloaking essentially is, but does it work for more than 1-2 ads, before YT/Fb cancels your account?
  3. Did any of you get any results from cold e-mail campaigns in these verticals?
  4. What are your experiences with push notifications, native ads and pop-ups? What are the usual conversion rates?
  5. What would be a relatively acceptable conversion rate for these types of offers?
  6. Do you create separate landing pages on your website for each ad you make?
thank you and again, I apologize if this wastes your time and/or bores you. I m just looking to learn.

Thanks,

Vlad

Become a junior developer or make games?

Hello! I’m a 42 y/o guy with some programming experience. (made some websites with PHP, JS, and little games : a shooter with Unity, a breakout game with UE4. [And some casino games in 1999 in Delphi :)] ) I like C#, but I like UE4 better :)
My main goal is to develop games (I have couple of game ideas on paper) in UE4.
So my 1st question is: Learn JAVA, webdev or C# for 1-2 years and get a junior developer job and make games with UE4 as a hobby 2. or just make games with Unreal 4, build a portfolio, learn it, reach an advanced level and in 2-3 years try to get into the industry?
And if the answer is 1, is there some clear roadmap to become a junior developer in Java or C#, like the linked Freecodecamp webdev roadmap blog? https://medium.freecodecamp.org/my-journey-to-becoming-a-web-developer-from-scratch-without-a-cs-degree-2-years-later-and-what-i-4a7fd2ff5503
(I reached Advanced Algorithm Scripting in the FreeCodeCamp course, but Javascript is not my favorite language :) )
Thanks for the advices/answers!
EDIT: Thank you guys for the replies! Thank you very much!! I decided to start making my game ideas right now (I agree that does not make sense to "wait" 2-3 years for a breakout or step in to the industry) and if my games give some folks couple happy hours, then I will be happy. Beside I will learn C#, because I like it, and it will be useful in the future. Again, thank you all for the posts, you guys are awesome here!

  6. Do you create separate landing pages on your website for each ad you make?
thank you and again, I apologize if this wastes your time and/or bores you. I m just looking to learn.
Thanks,

Total noob in search for guidance

hello, my name is Vlad and first and foremost, I want to apologize if and when I'll ask some stupid and obvious questions here.

Thanks,

Vlad

EDIT: DICE Tokens are now transferable and available on EtherDelta exchange
Hello World!
Following on from the success of our crowdfund (which raised 18,945 ether for the house bankroll) and the recent soft-launch of our Ethereum dice game, we are very pleased to announce that our ÐICE tokens become available for trading on EtherDelta exchange May 15th from 0900 UTC.
What is Etheroll? Our Ethereum dice game is provably-fair, has a low 1% house edge and no sign-ups or deposits. Each dice roll is provably random and crypto-graphically secure thanks to the nature of the Ethereum blockchain. Players can set their own odds using our unique web-based UI. A world first for Ethereum!
In the few weeks since our soft-launch, we have seen players wager up to 108 ether on one roll of the dice. Check out some of the other large wagers here (current live contract) and here (discontinued contract).
We are currently in the process of ramping up into full production. We recently raised our bankroll by 1000 ether, ~1/18th of our total bankroll. Bankroll increases will follow in a gradual order. You can read more on our development focuses in our 3-6 month development road-map here.
What is ÐICE? We are inviting you to bet on the house. Our ÐICE token is an ERC-20 standards-compliant token, and a default token within MyEtherWallet and Parity. ÐICE grants its holders special rights and privileges within the Etheroll platform; including the right to profit your proportional share of the house bankroll generates via our dice game with its built-in 1% house edge. For example, if you own 10% of all tokens, you have rights to 10% of the profit the bankroll generates, every 12 weeks.
Each ÐICE token grants its owner the following rights and has the following benefits:

[ANN] Edgeless - first 0% house edge and absolute transparency casino by etherslots.win

Previous gambling DApp reddit announcement: absolutely transparent slot machine
Hello /ethereum community!
We are really excited to announce a new DApp project which is a game-changer for the casino industry. Introducing - Edgeless - the first Ethereum-based casino offering 0% house edge and absolute transparency.
Gambling transparency and house edge
The fast-growing ($46B in 2016) online gambling industry has a huge problem: TRANSPARENCY. In 2017 all online casinos have full power to cheat against their own players. They can do it easily, without being spotted. It is also difficult for a casino to prove when they are not cheating. This creates a massive problem for online gambling and casts a shadow on the industry’s reputation.
The problem is real. The Wizard of Odds blog about the online gambling industry has so far black-listed over 50 online casinos. These platforms have been caught cheating in many different ways, including rigging the outcome, failure to pay out, delayed funds withdrawals and many more. Bitcoin casinos are no better: case of famous bitcoin casino caught cheating
With the Edgeless Project we aim to tackle this major industry problem and become one of the leading online casinos.
Key Edgeless Project elements:
Crowdsale of Edgeless
The crowdfunding campaign will start on 28th of February 2017, 3:00pm GMT and the goal is to raise 360 000 ETH by selling Edgeless tokens for gambling enthusiasts. More information about the ICO on https://edgeless.io/

American giving recommendations for Uruguay. What would you add?

Below are my general recommendations for someone going in the summer. I have been three times for a total of about a month and a half. Any suggestions (for the next time I visit)?
Hello!
There's so much to say so I will try and start at a high level and then zoom in.
While staying in Montevideo, I suggest finding an Airbnb (or a higher ranked hotel) in Villa Biarritz/Punta Carretas/Pocitos.
This area is nice because it is walking distance to the Rambla (similar to the Barcelona Rambla) and has a ton of cute, boutique restaurants in the area. It is also close to the Punta Carretas shopping mall which was a prison from the dictatorship days that was converted to a high class shopping mall.
Montevideo is super safe, but downtown, and especially the "Old City" are much more likely to have homeless people and beggars just because of all the tourist traffic.
For super luxury, check out http://www.sofitel.com/gb/hotel-7969-sofitel-montevideo-casino-carrasco-and-spa/index.shtml It is in the nicest neighborhood in Montevideo, but its a bit far from everything else.
As for places to eat, I highly suggest Mercado de Peurto (http://www.mercadodelpuerto.com/). This website is HORRIBLE but it is a pretty authentic Uruguayan experience. Lots of Asados, grilled meat, and its a cool atmosphere. Definitely worth it. Another really nice, small place is El Viejoy http://www.elviejoyquerido.com.uy/. It's small, and everything is for sale. So the plates are all different, the food is good. Also, wine at places is SUPER cheap so bottles all the time in Uruguay. These are the two places that come to mind, but please feel free to ask about any specific food. Fish, pizzas, pizzetas, chivito, beef, griled chicken, pastas are the main food you'll see.
Also, before I forget, there is a built in discount for when you use a Visa or other Debit Card. Its like 11-20% so its pretty substantial. It is meant to encourage tourists to spend money, so it only occurs at "touristy" things like restaurants and cafes. So use a Visa card.
Flea markets are a huge thing in Uruguay because there are many, many artisans. Here is a list of the top markets-- https://theculturetrip.com/south-america/uruguay/articles/the-best-markets-in-uruguay/ -- the first one is huge. You can get anything at the market. Anything. A live chicken? Yes. A dog? Yes. Fresh fruit? Yes. There are miles of this thing.
Other touristy things you can look up yourself because a top 10 list will do a better job than me, but the above suggestions made everything enjoyable for us. Here is a website with that stuff: https://theculturetrip.com/south-america/uruguay/articles/the-top-10-things-to-do-and-see-in-montevideo-uruguay/
The NYT also recently did an article: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/16/travel/montevideo-uruguay-millennial-entrepreneurs-design-fashion-restaurants.html
ON TO THE COAST
First of all, rent a car. They aren't super expensive. Get a fun cheap little Chinese car. Really, cause gas is expensive and you don't need much more than that. Start to head west up the coast. There are a ton of small beach towns, but I am going to point out a few that are worth it. Also, beware! Try and drive this during times when tourists won't be. Up toward the coast is the main tourist attraction of most of South America, so you don't want to hit traffic. In approximate order of hitting the towns...
Pirapolis --cool spot with a fantastic view up the large mountain (driveable). Theres a restaurant up there too. It was really cool when we drive through at night, but we haven't spent that much time there.
Las Cumbres isnt a town but its a hotel on the way and its BEAUTIFUL. Have never stayed there but have just gotten tea and its literally stunning (https://www.cumbres.com.uy/ingles/index.html)
Punta Del Este-- I am sure you have heard of this place. Book a hotel early as it is likely going to be very busy when you go. It is the most upscale and you will see the richest families in South America here, and possibly Ricky Martin. I can't recommend a single restaurant because they are all fantastic. Bars START to get hopping at 2am (this is typical of all Uruguay) and this strip of bars will look like something out of a movie by 3 or 4. It's worth it to see. Random note: when you park, you usually give a small tip to people who "watch" you car, before or after. You'll see them. Its a real thing and protected from govt even though its scammy. I can go off about it but not here lol. Otherwise, do the touristy things here!
After Punta there's also a belgian hotel that's gorgeous called L'Auberge. (http://www.laubergehotel.com/) if you're interested in that.
La Barra is the next town, right after Punta. This is a party town, and theres a big, party beach with live DJs called Bikini. Also check out the shops. There's this amazing candle store called Vellas de Ballena that is great for souvenirs to give to people.
Next up is Jose Igancio. Super upscale little old fishing village that now gorgeous. There is a restaurant called Parador La Huella that we have never been to but has been in NYT and is really nice. We usually just pass through here, go to beach for an hour or two (there are surfing lessons here) and get a bite to eat. Wouldn't suggest staying here just because its so expensive and there isn't much nightlife in this area. There is sometimes a pop up restaurant here that has their sister restaurant in Brooklyn that if you go to both they treat you really well (because so few people do).
After Jose you have La Paloma (which is the next biggest city (after Punta and Pirapolis) but I don't suggest it, but then right after that is La Pedrera which is SO cute, and worth a stay. This place is also centrally located so if you stay in Punta for a few nights this might be your second home base. This is like hipsteartist central, with cool restaurants down the strip and a cool beach. Definitely an airbnb place, though--have no concept of what the hotels might be like cause its smaller. Not a party place but so cool and relaxing. Its a nice contrast. One restaurant I really enjoyed was Petisco (https://www.facebook.com/PetiscoRestoPubLaPedrera/). I highly suggest spending a night here. You won't find it on tourist destinations.
Next up...Cabo Polonia. This place is AMAZING. It is only accessible via these all terrain vehicles and its absolutely beautiful. We made a day out of it (I think its like 40 min from La Pedrera, so we stay two nights in La Pedrera and spent one day here). Here is a NYtimes article on it: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/09/30/the-coast-of-utopia/ --I highly suggest it for a day, at least. We didn't stay so I don't know nightlife (they don't really have electricity or running water?) so don't know what its like, but there are hotels and is one of the top tourist destinations.
Finally, you have Punta Del Diablo, its one of my favorites. beautiful beach, cool atmosphere, and overall chill AF. We made a day trip out of this place (every year), but I assume you could stay longer. Think surfers, and surf huts, and beautiful beach.
Finally, not a beach town but possibly worth a visit, there is a winery and a town called Garzon. http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2012/05/13/travel/20120513-SURFACING.html Very hard to find, but worth a good dinner at the restaurant listed. The winery is evidently amazing as well, but I have never been.
COMING OVER FROM BA (East):
It might be worth it to take the ferry to Colonia instead of directly Montevideo. Spend a day here and then take a bus to Uruguay (probably cheaper too). This place is a super small Portuguese town from like the 1600s or something that has been preserved. Cute cafes, artisans, and great views.
For five nights, I would suggest spending:
1-2 nights in Montevideo. See the tourist things in the link above and experience the flea markets. Drive through Pirapolis if you can on the way to Punta from Montevideo, maybe grab lunch there.
1 night (preferably a weekend, but not necessary) in Punta. It's really the most famous destination. Go out and have fun all night long. On the way to La Pedrera stop in La Barra and Jose Ignacio to walk around, grab an ice cream, and sit on the beach for a bit.
2 nights in La Pedrera. You can use this as a destination point-- spend 1 day in Cabo Polonia, 1 day in La Pedrera (or just come back for dinnedrinks at the end of the day). You could even make it to Punta Del Diablo.
1 night in Punta Del Diablo or back to Montevideo (where you will probably have your flight from).
Note that driving up and down the coast takes like 2 hours from Monte to Punta and like 2-3 hour to Punta Del Diablo, which is the furthest point. It's not that far.

AMA The Curator of Paradise Lost Ask Me Anything

Hello, my name is Rose Anne White.
I recently curated an exhibition in Dublin on the lost landscape of Marino, a suburb in Dublin 3 near Clontarf and Fairview. This landscape is now almost invisible, but was hugely influential and important in the 18th century because of its design influences, the technology it employed, and because of the man behind it - the politically-active First Earl of Charlemont. You can read more about the exhibition at www.paradiselostexhibition.com, and it is open to visit until 31 October at the Casino Marino in Dublin 3.
In a previous life (and sometime again soon if I find the time!) I ran the Irish Historical Textiles blog (http://irishhistoricaltextiles.com/blog/), as I have a great interest in textile history.
My current job is working on war memorials and graveyards from the 1913-1922 period in Dublin - I am putting together a commemorative website for the Decade of Centenaries.
Ask me anything!

[Dev Blog] Fanfest 2016 and EVE Vegas 2015 Tickets Now On Sale! ~CCP Falcon

http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/fanfest-2016-and-eve-vegas-2015-tickets-now-on-sale/
image
Hello Capsuleers!
No doubt some of you are still recovering from the festivities of Fanfest 2015, I know for sure that I am!
With this years Party At The Top Of The World upon us and Fanfest drawing to a close, we must now look to the future and the many more years of glorious internet spaceships shenanigans ahead of us. With this in mind, CCP Curtis has once again retired to his secret volcano lair beneath the frozen wastes of Iceland to begin plotting an even bigger, better and badder Fanfest for 2016 from April 21st to 24th.
As has just been announced at the Fanfest 2015 closing ceremony, tickets for Fanfest 2016 are now on sale!
You can pick them up by visting our Eventbrite site here!
Eventbrite???!? I hear you say?
Indeed!
Weve been trying out Eventbrite for some of our gatherings and events in the past (including EVE Vegas and EVE Paris) and wed like to switch to using this service as our ticketing portal for all events going forward, given how well its been working so far.
The in-house ticketing system that weve used for Fanfest in previous years is not as robust as wed like it to be, and by using Eventbrite going forward we free up the manpower of having to maintain an old system so that our web developers can spend their time more productively to bring more functional tools and webpages to you all.
The use of Eventbrite also gives us a more fluid toolset to work with, including real time tracking of ticket sales and the ability to be more responsive with the community when dealing with ticket sales, including being able to directly message all ticket buyers based on a whole host of filters, as well as offering solid mobile support for ticket sales.
What about buying tickets for PLEX?
Maintaining a dual ticketing system like we did for EVE Vegas and previous Fanfests is costly and complex, especially when we consider that only 3.5% of the ticket sales for Fanfest 2015 and 5.9% of the ticket sales for EVE Vegas 2014 were purchased with PLEX.
As such, we wont be supporting dual ticketing going forward via Eventbrite.
We will however be announcing a special PLEX ticket sale for EVE Fanfest 2016 that will allow those who want to use PLEX as payment method a chance purchase ticket for PLEX for a limited time. Therell be more details to come on the Fanfest 2016 ticket sales for PLEX in a future Devblog, and well be sure to message as widely as possible so that players dont miss out on the opportunity to purchase for PLEX.
Keep your eyes peeled and rivted to the Devblogs feed for more information.

Onward, to EVE Vegas 2015!
The dates have been announced at the Fanfest 2015 Closing Ceremony and tickets are now on sale! You can click the banner above to go directly to the EVE Vegas website, learn more, and pick up your tickets.
Staged at the Planet Hollywood Resort Casino and packed with player and developer presentations, this is an EVE themed party like no other that you dont want to miss out on!
Last year EVE Vegas was sold out for the first time. We are preperaing for an even bigger event this year, with this celebration right on the Las Vegas Strip set to be the largest event that CCP has hosted in North America. Ticket sales are now open via Eventbrite, and you can pick them up from the EVE Vegas website.
Grab your tickets for Fanfest 2016 today, and make sure that youre here to celebrate all things New Eden with us at next years event.
o7, pilots see you on the flip side! (hopefully!)
