First time poster and on a mobile device. A family member works for a scrap metal company that purchases scrap vehicles, crushes them and sells the metal. They are supposed to drain the fluid and dispose of them according to the law, but they do not. They simply crush the cars and let the gas, oil, antifreeze, etc. drain into the ground. The thing that is most upsetting it's that they are literally two hundred feet from a residential community that are on wells, as well as a tree line away from conservation land. They had a massive fire due a spark igniting a gas tank while crushing cars and the fire department started an investigation but stopped half way through. There is a rumor that the owner paid them off. I know a resident from across the street also contacted someone about it, but again, an investigation was launched and then stopped half way through. What are my options on making sure something is done about this while staying anonymous as I do not retaliation done to my family member. Can I out then without physical proof? I should also mention that I have witnessed this several times I'm person while visiting said family member at work.
